Steps To Reproduce

I was going to open a feature request in the community forums, but I found this:
https://community.bitwarden.com/t/add-support-for-changing-the-tray-icon-on-linux/32207/9
and it was closed with instructions to open a ticket here, so...

As you may or may not know system tray icons are now monochrome (b&w), so the current blue & white icon while attractive doesn't really fit in any more. Telegram resolved this issue by adding an option in the application settings to "Use Monochrome Icon" which fixes the issue for them. It would be nice if Bitwarden could take the same approach.

Expected Result

Add an option to use a monochrome icon if desired.

Actual Result

No option for monochrome tray icon.

Screenshots or Videos

Here is a photo of how telegram does it:

Here shows the current bitwarden icon in the tray. I'm also filing a but with mega-sync and insync.

Additional Context

Yes, it's not an urgent matter or affecting functionality. It's more of a fit and finish issue and would be nice if you could do this.

Issue Tracking Info

  • I understand that work is tracked outside of GitHub. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.
