The homepage and documentation URL for clustalw has been down since early 2026.

There is an archive mirror in ebi for clustalw2 at https://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/clustalw2/, as well as an available document at https://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/clustalw2/clustalw_help.txt

Perhaps we should update the metadata? I'm willing to submit a PR if needed.

Yeah, probably worth it, as long as the archived source code is good. Another option is to remove the recipe from the repo since its not being maintained. The existing packages will stay in the channel. It's still getting hundreds of downloads per day.
