Encrypted Local Database #4596
Labels
Comments
Put backlog until we have more project partner engagement and feedback about the need for this feature for various use environments. |
FYI, all local data are currently encrypted using keys stored in the device secure enclave (if it has one), it's not super hard to add support for password-derived key instead of the ones in the enclave |

Feature request
An encrypted local database for messages etc.

To prevent malicious apps, phone manufactures, etc. from reading sensitive messages.
Possible implementation
When I say encrypted local database, I mean the kind that requires a password to decrypt. This is essential for a private and secure messaging app.
