Eviltoys is a game based and backward compatible with Quake1. So everything you know about quake can be applied here too.
To understand how the source tree is organized you need some historic background: The game engine source code been released by ID Software, but not the assets (images,sounds,game levels...) which is under commercial license. during that time many project were based on fixing bugs in the source and adding enhancement and porting to new platforms.Another project called openquartz was made as mission to replace all proprietary game content with free one (under GPL licence). Today our project is made by quake engine + modified openquartz game data to make a non violent educational game.
