It would great to have a restful api explorer to this project and having several endpoints like:
/musicbrainz/year/
/musicbrainz/genre/
/musicbrainz/artists/

A REST API is directly provided by the Elasticsearch search engine. You have to know the syntax in order to request it. An easier API could be develop as an Elasticsearch plugin. But I have to know your requirements.

I was thinking about that https://github.com/mb21/api-explorer but maybe nodejs would not be robust enough
