hmm, that's an interesting question. I think it's possible to hack this with some bash scripting: aretext() {
if [ $# -eq 0 ]; then
command aretext "untitled-$(date +%s).md"
else
command aretext "$@"
fi
} If you add the above to ~/.bashrc or ~/.bash_profile, then calling I could imagine making this configurable in the future, maybe something like |

I couldn't find the answer in the docs.
Is it possible to open up arete x without specifying a filename and have the default filetype be markdown?
zk note taker works like this. It's great for populating a folder with markdown notes without concerning oneself with naming files.
