TSL2561 stop working with ESP32 15.0.1.2 but working on 14.6.0.1

Recently build 15.0.1.2 using tasmota32 configuration to include TSL2561. Same configuration has been used prior 15.0.1.2 has no issues. If TSL2561 is defined in user config override, source built correctly. After upgraded ESP32 to 15.0.1.2, ESP32 will boot and reset continually. Downgraded back 14.6.0.1, TSL2561 started working again. I2C Pins are 21 & 22.

There seems to be a updated TSL2561 variant (long time ago), failing the test only matching on the even older one.

Looks like an updated TSL2561 driver originally used part number 5 (instead of 1), but this was likely removed later.

Sorry for that, it seemed a straightforward fix, based on the datasheet I've found for the chip to avoid a different module being misdetected as this one.
Can you please see what is the ID byte returned so we can make the check more generic check and deal with both variants of the chip?

ok, I've confirmed in the latest datasheet from OSRAM (seems to be the current manufacturer of the chip) the current value is 5. I'll make a PR with the fix in a few minutes. thanks

As posted in the other tread, the updated variant of the sensor should have part number 5 in high order nibble, meaning id byte 0x5X in addition to 0x1X

And it indeed works filtering with a condition like (id & 0xF0) != 0x50
