Smart Plug (Nous A1T) with Tasmota restarts every 20 minutes due to exception

My Nous A1T smart plug, running Tasmota, restarts every 20 minutes due to an exception. This issue is causing my threshold sensors in Home Assistant to intermittently switch to "unknown" because the source sensor (connected to the smart plug) becomes unavailable during the restart.

TO REPRODUCE

• Set up a Nous A1T smart plug with the latest Tasmota firmware.
• Observe the device for approximately 20 minutes.
• The device will restart due to an exception, causing connected sensors to become unavailable.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

The smart plug should remain stable without restarting, and the connected sensors should maintain their status without switching to "unknown".

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

The issue seems to be tied to a recurring exception that forces the device to restart every 18-21 minutes. This behavior is consistent across multiple Nous A1T devices running Tasmota. The restarts are causing disruptions in my Home Assistant setup, particularly with threshold sensors that rely on data from the smart plug.

AND enabled with command syslog 3 it should log the error on restart.

You don't see the configuration yet because I factory-resetted the adapter just to check if its something in the configuration. I did syslogging before with the same result - no specific log-entry logged. Unfortunately I already deleted the corresponding logs from my synology-log-receiver already so I can not post them anymore.

I sent those commands via console. This is required for openeing a ticket :)

No. I was talking about Status 10, Status 1 and Status 11 incoming via MQTT. Looks very much like a polling tool.

There is nothing else polling Tasmotas data except the already mentioned home-assistant (which is - at least from my point of perspective - not poling but only working with the data it get's from the mqtt-broker)

Well, if your HA setup is publishing those commands to get data at short intervals, that is exactly what polling is. Tasmota can deliver data by itself without getting commanded (polled) to produce data. Polling is not a recommended technique, even if "most devices" should be able to handle it without getting overloaded.

I'm unsure if you understood my previous anwer. HomeAssistant is NOT pulling data. It's just working with the data it get's from mqtt (and mqtt is send FROM tasmota TO MQTT-Broker - or am I wrong?)

If you say that those commands are coming from HA, this act is by definition polling for data, instead of waiting for what would come anyway.

The MQTT protocol facilitates publish/subscribe both ways, every client (including HA) can publish data to subscribers, and any subscriber can act on incoming data on a subscription. Like when Tasmota commands are being published from HA (or whatever), and executed in the same way as if they were entered in the web or serial console.

Obviously, I don't know what your HA setup is, but it is perfectly possible to have a setup doing polling to manage when it wants to pull data. Just not what Tasmota is designed for, and "weak hardware" may not be able to handle much in cyclic command processing.

To be clear, you could also have other sources of those commands being published via MQTT.

Just to clarify, I did not explicitly state that the commands were definitively coming from Home Assistant (HA); however, I understand that it is a possibility. I'm relatively certain that my setup is not configured to poll in the manner you described, but I will double-check to ensure there isn't an inadvertent configuration causing this behavior.

To get to the root of the issue, I have now completely deactivated one of my Tasmota adapters (which has the exact same problem - as all of them) in Home Assistant. This should help me determine whether the problem is indeed coming from HA.

Additionally, I have set the Syslog level to 4 on this adapter and am directing all logs to my log receiver on my Synology. This should provide me with more detailed insights into the adapter's behavior and potential causes of the issue.

I will be closely monitoring the logs and hope to gain further understanding from this. If you have any specific recommendations on which log entries I should pay particular attention to or any other tips, I would greatly appreciate it.
