The first game uses FSW.dll library for storing most of it's code and small launcher to launch it. The GOG (and probably also Steam) version has one line in this library changed from the GameSpy server address to some THQ Nordic address, but other than that both retail and digital one are identical and use GameSpy for online play. I've tried to search for similar change for the Ten Hammers, but it's executable (yes, devs had put this ones code in an actual executable) is obfuscated (I've checked the GOG version of executable, since they usually provide the clean ones).

As of v1.0.81 , half of this request has been completed, that is support for Full Spectrum Warrior has been added. Ten Hammers is still remaining.

When it comes to Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers, it has some weird obfuscation / anti-patching / anti-debug timing measures scattered around which constantly trigger and crash the game even when you're not debugging anything.
So for now, this one will be shelved, matter can be revisited if an unprotected executable is found or there is inclination for further research to remove those.
