How to set a field to integer type?

Hi, I might be missing something obvious, but cannot find the answer in the documentation.
Passing two field to AWX, which need to be integer, but there is no type: integer. Any clue would be appreciated.

Fail msg:
- Value 2048 for 'vm_hw_ram_mb' expected to be an integer.
- Value 21 for 'vm_disk_gb' expected to be an integer.

The form:

did you checked type "number"

weird i am using number in couple of my playbooks where the input expects integer and it works fine, you may check the type of your variable coming through to see what it looks like.

tasks:
- name: Display type of the variable
debug:
msg: "The variable is of type: {{ vm_hw_ram_mb | type_debug }}"

    Below for you which i use

• name: size
  type: number
  label: Size(in GB)
  line: line1

  output if i see type:

@slekkus75 i got ur problem now its with the default you are using that are enclosed within quotes "" which convert it to str.
Remove the quotes and try with default: 2048 it should work.Let me know how you go.

Ah, yes. Makes sense since it did not even start a job. Now I have removed the quotes on the defaults, but one entry remains

even changing type to text, it still complains that a string was expected.

i tested the same thing on my end but it all seems to work fine, maybe just try to change the variable name on both sides and see.

Ok, the things is, I started with AWX survey form and then found your project, so I reused all the variable names from the AWX survey form and created the one in AF, but added an additional field (domain name), which did not exist in the survey.
All this time I had not disabled the survey on the AWX template. So disabled it, thinking the extra_vars would work for some reason. By disabling this, none of the extra_var variables sent by AF get passed to the playbook.
Enabling the AWX survey and adding the missing domain variable name and AF form works.

Not sure how and why.

you must disable surveys, they will act as an intermediate filter. and block external extravars. you must also enable "prompt" on the extravars in the awx template to allow incoming extravars.
