@MICHAELMUNAVU83 Do you want me to create issues about this or is #1174 enough? The birthday field should be a text input and not a date field.

@wintermeyer , question , if we have it as a text input , won't it be hard for a user to add their date as it is not as structured as a date input?

Did you read the other issue?

I tried to describe that a lot of Usern have a problem to enter their birthday. I know! Why?! Because normal humans think different than us programmer.

why not an date selection calender, starting with year, than month and than date?

I have never thought that a simple date input field becomes such a big problem. But it has become one. This field is the one I get the most feedback from normal users who have a problem to use the browser date picker (which IMO is easy to use). For a typical German user who has not technical background a dd.mm.yy or dd.mm.yyyy input seems to be the most easy to use.
