State of this Project?

Dear maintainer,

Thank you for publishing this project. I am considering playing around with this library, but the readme states that it is not released and yet in development. The last commit is more than 2 years ago, though. Could you tell me please what the state is, approximately: is it worth to use it, if yes, what to look out for? Or would you not recommend it and instead refer to other libraries/recommend me to do my own custom implementations?
