feature request: Google Assistant Trigger #5
Comments
Hi, @YeonV , I'm not familiar with google assistant API, do you familiar with the google assistant API? Or, is there webhook supporting? Is there any examples about using their API to do with this? Anyway, I'll check it if there is an appropriate way. Thanks for your advice. |
Maybe this could help: |
Thanks @YeonV , we can chat at slack As you said, I prefer to use the IFTTT applet [Google -> Webhook]. If we developed with Google API, others may need more work to do. Like create their own google project, etc. The bad thing is, IFTTT now only supports 3 free applet created by user. And we can not publish a general applet at IFTTT, because they don't support webhook as a public applet. https://help.ifttt.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010230347-Webhooks-service-FAQ What do you think? |
Hey @theowenyoung I want to get rid of IFTTT completely, since they started with limitations and pricings... Yesterday i managed to do it via dialogflow, but at the end this is gonna be paid too. For the beginning one text ingredient would be enough. We could then parse and process the commands on the actions-side (webhook server) Yes we can talk in slack but your link only links to this issue. |
@YeonV I'm sorry, the correct link is https://join.slack.com/t/actionsflow/shared_invite/zt-h5tmw9cn-GbZ4fzU_vc_qB~nnS_2Lvg it's an Actionsflow slack workspace. I'm afraid that IFTTT google assistant trigger is still the best choice for us, it's a parter of Google Assistant, they have an advanced permission of google assistant. Maybe we can publish a public applet of [IFTTT google assistant] to slack, then set a Actionsflow webhook at slack? Or, the other relay service at IFTTT. Public IFTTT applet is still free. |
@theowenyoung okay. There is no need in having a public applet, as everything is working already. |
@YeonV Okay, thanks. I'll remember this feature request, see if there is a good solution, and then update this issue |
I am interested in getting rid of IFTTT too as they redesigned the whole Google Assistant integration and made it useless. |
Context
React on commands sent from a google assistant (i.e. home mini)
Alternatives
ifttt -> google assistant
Has the trigger been requested before?
