Help: Original Zoo Tycoon almost launches, but swiftly crashes with a display error. 00c0:err:system:NtUserChangeDisplaySettings. More info below.

Trying to install Zoo Tycoon.

Was missing 1 DLL, which I added and that solved that error. ijl15.dll was missing.
Now I'm getting this:

Ok. Found a solution - which led to another issue.

Here's the solution to 00c0:err:system:NtUserChangeDisplaySettings Changing L"\\\\.\\DISPLAY1 display settings returned -2. if anyone here is interested in playing this game in particular:

run wordpad.exe via Whiskey. Open zoo.ini. You'll see fullscreen=1 change that to fullscreen=0 save and play!!

Now on to the next issue which I have no idea how to solve - and may just be an Apple silicon issue.
For no particular reason, the game will just crash. I'll get the standard windows crash dialogue box. This is the log post-crash:

012c: thread_get_state failed on Apple Silicon - faking zero debug registers

This leads me to believe it's just par for the course when running old Windows XP games via WINE via M2 chip.
Again, any suggestions would be great.
