Issue description

When using the Essential mod, Patchouli causes the multiplayer functionality to break, saying "timed out" when the joiner finishes loading.

Steps to reproduce

have someone install Essential and host a world
join it
host should see "player has joined" in chat followed by "player has left"
joiner gets error message "timed out"
