Issue description

Some Patchouli books are rendering with boxes instead of text, even after I turned on the force-unicode-font option described in #236.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a Patchouli guidebook (I've tested with Stylish Occult's Runonomicon, Miskatonic Mysteries' Necronomicon and Science Journal, and Minekea's Catalogue)
  2. Observe the rectangles.

Other information

I do have Stendhal installed, which alters how vanilla books and signs work, but I'm not sure why that would affect how Patchouli books render.

After disabling Stendhal, no change. I don't have anything else that should be modifying text rendering...

This seems to be a per-world issue? I'm not sure what the deal is, but the text is only broken in my creative testing world and not in my survival world.
