Request maintenance release for HDF5 2.0

NetCDF devs, would it be reasonable to publish a maintenance release with HDF5 2.0 compatibility? Branch off from netcdf-C 4.9.3, add HDF5 2.0 compatibility, perhaps cherry pick some good and stable bug fixes. Nothing else.

P.S. NO do not include new HDF5 2.0 data types or other new HDF5 features at this time. The point of a maintenance release is to enable a reasonable HDF5 transition for downstream users and packagers. Thank you for your consideration.

The main remaining issue I have to deal with right now, coming off the holidays, is an issue I observed in netcdf-Fortran, when linking against netcdf built against HDF5 2.0. I'll open an issue once I have specific information. Once that is fixed, I will be able to do maintenance releases for both the C and Fortran libraries.

It looks like we have things wrapped up. Reviewing existing PR's and then we'll get a maintenance release out for HDF5 2.0 compatibility!

Agreed. I'm hoping to get one out next week, I've had to take care of some technical debt on the back end.
