JWeaver asked for a measure tool in the following post:
http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/10274-is-there-a-way-to-measure-in-cura/#entry99611

I suggest selecting the first point and displaying the distance as soon as the mouse is over another point. Perhaps display a (dashed) line between the point clicked and the mouse/point hovered over.

Hi @BagelOrb
At Ultimaker we've already developed a measurement and annotation tools as part of JAM. This is a viewer and more. Let me know if you want a demo and explanation.

I think the point is that you want this to work in Cura. Having to upload it first before you can measure is a bit annoying.

I want that too, but we want a lot of things. It can't all be done at the
same time. I'm just saying that it makes sense not to duplicate effort
within a single company.

This component doesn't need to be online to work. It can be packaged. But
if you are online Cura could serve the file it displays.

When online it also makes communicating the measurement trivial.

I think the point is that you want this to work in Cura. Having to upload
it first before you can measure is a bit annoying.
