Hi @LENN17! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the Trilium team. Trilium's password protection encrypts note content, titles, images, and attachments, but does not protect metadata or note structure. To protect a note and its sub-files, you need to enable protection recursively—this is not automatic. When you click the shield icon to protect a note, make sure to select the option to include the subtree (all sub-notes); otherwise, only the selected note is protected and its children remain unprotected. There is no documented limitation specific to the 'Journal' file, so if sub-files aren't being protected, double-check that recursive protection was enabled when applying the password protection. You can find more details in the official documentation on protected notes. To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? Good | Irrelevant | Incorrect | Verbose | Hallucination | Report 🐛 | Other |
