Could you give this a think and possibly mock-up in GitHub:

Users who used to be redirected to m.thetyee.ca on certain small mobile devices will now arrive at the new pages.
For some, who've bookmarked the old m.thetyee.ca URL, this might be confusing.
I'm thinking we could show them a message/notification about the change (with link to article about) and then set a cookie so so we know they've seen it and then hide it.

Curious where "notification" like this might work in the new article layout?

Do we still need this? I recall you mentioned its not important anymore.
