Is this a new Bug?

  • I checked that the bug hasn't been reported before

Package Name

memcached

Package Version

1.6.34-7

Device Model

DS918+

Device Architecture

x86_64

Firmware Version

7.1.1-42962

What happened?

  1. apache 2.4 and php 7.4 are installed, which are not required to run memcached.
They are only needed to run php memcached admin, and I don't need them.
I can't even delete them because they are dependencies.
Please create a separate package for memcached-admin so that I can delete apache 2.4.

  2. when apache 2.4 is installed as an update, php memcached admin is still not running.
After a complete uninstall and reinstalling memcached, php memcached admin worked.

  3. memcached crashed in package center

@crucifyer, thanks for your request. I've reclassified this as an enhancement, as it doesn't appear to be a bug. We can explore splitting the memcached package into the core app and the admin interface. This approach will likely improve maintenance and help keep the core app lightweight, as originally intended.

@hgy59, do you have any objections to this approach?

@crucifyer, it looks like your Package Center interface is affected by the known issue #6337. Memcached itself likely didn't cause the crash of the Package Center. You might want to check the service log to confirm.
