Method failed() is not called

I gather that one can define failed() on an Export to be called when the export fails for whatever reason.

I try like this, but it is never called.

    public function failed(Throwable $exception): void
    {
        Log::error($exception->getMessage());
    }

I have encountered these exceptions during use, but the failed() has never been called.

Maatwebsite\Excel\Jobs\AppendQueryToSheet has been attempted too many times.

Could not find zip member zip:///tmp/storage/framework/cache/laravel-excel/laravel-excel-xxx.xlsx#_rels\.rels

I call using Excel::queue( new InvoicesExport())->chain(new CompletedJob()); the CompletedJob works as expected.

On which class did you put this failed() method? If you have multiple sheets, it should be on the sheet class

On the Export class itself. Something like this:

class InvoicesExport implements FromQuery
{

    public function query()
    {
        return Invoice::query();
    }
    
    public function failed(Throwable $exception): void
    {
        Log::error($exception->getMessage());
    }
}

Laravel doesn't call failed method on Maatwebsite\Excel\Jobs\AppendQueryToSheet has been attempted too many times I think
