Description:
I would like to propose the addition of search filters in SkyTube for categorizing search results when searching for YouTube/YouTube Music content. Currently, when performing a search, the results include a mix of Videos, Channels, and Playlists. This can sometimes make it challenging to quickly find the specific type of content I'm looking for.
Requested Feature:
I am suggesting the implementation of search filters that allow users to refine their search results based on the following categories:
Search Filters For YouTube
Videos
Channels
Playlists
Search Filters For YouTube Music
Songs
Videos
Albums
Playlist
Benefits:
Enhanced User Experience: Search filters would provide users with the ability to narrow down their search results to the specific type of content they are interested in, leading to a more streamlined and efficient search experience.
Improved Content Discovery: Users would be able to discover relevant content more easily by filtering out unrelated content types from their search results.
Tailored Searches: The addition of search filters would give users greater control over their searches, allowing them to focus on the content type that best meets their needs.
Potential Implementation:
The search filters could be implemented as 3 dot buttons or checkboxes that appear next to the search bar. Users would be able to select one or more filters at a time to refine their search results.
Additional Notes:
I understand that this feature may require some backend changes to the search functionality. However, I believe that the benefits it would bring to the user experience and content discovery process make it a valuable addition to SkyTube.
Thank you for considering this feature request. I believe that the inclusion of search filters would greatly enhance the usability and utility of SkyTube for users who frequently search for YouTube/YouTube Music content.
Environment:
SkyTube version: 2.986
Android version: Android 12
Device: Motorola One 5G Ace
RAM : 6GB RAM
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor, up to 6GB of RAM
Storage: 128 GB
