Let's compile feedback for the advanced index here:

1. Column selector dropdown

• In the Columns dropdown, carelessly clicking on the name of the column rather than the grab-bar to drag it will result in the column being moved but also un/checked, and worse, because of the slight delay while doing the postback, this can result in accidentally de/selecting a column without noticing (because your gaze has already moved on by the time you release the mouse button). This is probably just a small UX wart that could be fixed a number of ways, such as reducing the hitbox for selection to only the checkbox itself (and extending the grab bar hitbox to the rest of the row) or simply making it more visually obvious where the hitboxes boundaries are.

2. Sorting logic

• I love how flexible the tiered sorting system is, but the flat list can still be hard to visually grep without changing the sort order. For instance, if my preferred default is to sort by Custodian and then by Category, I'm still reduced to reading the person's name to determine where the boundaries are between blocks of assets. Perhaps the user could designated one column as a key for A-B colouration of rows. This would visually break up the flat list so that you don't have to change the column order or sort order to see those groupings at a glance.
