When open the fire effect options tab, imo, it is not clear which preset is current active : selection widget show always the string "Choose a preset" : it doesn't matter which preset is chosen.
The Solution
replace the default string with the current preset applied (if there's one) or write "Custom preset" if someone change presets settings..
The Alternatives
Display a label somewhere with active preset or "Custom preset"

Thanks for the suggestion! While I like the idea, I think it's just a minor UX improvement. At the same time its not so super-easy to implement (we would have to compare all fire settings with all presets each time anything is modified in the fire settings in order to update the preset label). Therefore, I won't work on this in the near future - there are more important things to be done 😉. If anybody wants to implement this, drop a note here - then I will assign the issue!
