Hi Nicholas,
I have some suggestions to improve the split value tool that I hope can be added to the tool:

  1. Maintain the keyframe interpolation as it is instead of reverting it to linear.
  2. It would be great to include a "clean" option to remove redundant keyframes that do not affect the animation.

This improvement would save a lot of time and effort when working on animations and making adjustments to the animation.

Hi!

Sorry to reply so late.
The interpolation is a problem when splitting the dimensions for spatial properties, as if the trajectory has been changed using bezier handles it is not trivial at all to convert it to separated keyframes ; that's the reason why After Effects itself doesn't correctly do it for the position property.
That said, it could be done for non-spatial properties, I'm adding this in the TODO list ;)

There are lots of tools like the kleaner or the "bake expression" tools which already clean the keyframes the way you describe it, and this will be quick to add to the split tool, thanks for the suggestion!
