Change the root cause field to a list of options #8

Feature Description

The Root Cause field is currently in the open text format, so is not possible to extract assertive metrics. Changing to a list of root causes options, that could be done.

Problem

Today we cannot extract assertive metrics related to the incident's Root Cause.

Expected behaviour

As Root Cause is an important characteristic of an incident, we want to extract metrics of them, to better focus our efforts to reduce the impact of those root causes.

Alternatives

Alternatives are welcome.

Quais seriam as ideias de opções?

Não sei, o @arrudacesar que deu a ideia. Temos que pensar talvez em alguma coisa que possa servir para a comnunidade também. Ainda não sei se criamos o relacionamento no banco ou deixamos em um yml file.

Se a ideia é tirar métricas, colocar ele no banco facilitaria quando for necessário fazer algum dash.
Mas a causa raiz não vai ser sempre a mesma, será que isso faz sentido? Talvez essa seja outra informação. Por exemplo, ao invés de causa raiz, poderia ter uma lista de "gatilhos" pra isso:

  • Fornecedor de Serviço (GCP/Sendgrid/OAuth)
  • Erro Humano (Alguém desligou alguma coisa que não devia)
  • Regressão (Bug inserido via PR)
  • Rollout (Time testando coisas novas)
  • Performance (Alguma área que degradou devido ao volume)
    Enfim, algo nesse sentido, saca?
