I can managed to add this website to my feed: https://godotengine.org/

The feed seems to be valid: https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgodotengine.org%2Fatom.xml

I'm having a similar issue on 6.19 with my Hugo blog at https://www.olafalders.com/ I have <link rel=alternate type=application/rss+xml href=/index.xml title=olafalders.com> in the <head> and the feed passes the w3 validator.

@oalders In your case, it’s because NetNewsWire prefers JSON Feed to RSS when it finds it, and it believes it found a JSON feed here…

  <link rel=alternate type=application/json href=/index.json title=olafalders.com>

…and it’s true that your index.json is JSON, but it’s not a JSON Feed. Which is where NetNewsWire stops.

(You could argue that it should try the XML feed next. Yes, it should.)

@brentsimmons thanks for explaining that to me. I've fixed my front page and it's now picking up my new JSON RSS feed.

index.json on my site is used to power a JS search feature. I think it's maybe down to how the theme I chose manages URLs, but it's nice to get this sorted.

I just started using NetNewsWire a couple of weeks ago. I love it! ❤

Regarding the godot engine blog feed, I saw you labelled it so I wonder if you reproduced it ? I contribute to the godot project so I could eventually look how to provide a fix there since it is a simple jekyll static website: https://github.com/godotengine/godot-website
