Currently the AdIDoS plugin does not recognize a successful attack when the service is so overloaded that it doesn´t respond before the connection timeout.
The plugin finishes with a 0% rating and the log only shows this error message:
WARN [PossibleState] Service seems to be down! No request was send successfully. Abort execution.
In my tests the attacked services did not respond to manually sent requests at all - even a couple of minutes after WS-Attacker aborted the execution of the attack. For example, the "CXF-Sign" sample service does not respond for solid 5 minutes after the abortion of an Element Count attack. After 5/6 minutes the web service recovered and worked normally again.
This issue can be reproduced by executing the Element Count attack against the "CXF-Sign" or "Metro-Sign" sample service with the default settings.
