Best practices about storing audio and video on iphones?

Question that came up in advance team workshops that covered the mobile bundle was whether there are best practices about where to store sensitive audio and video recordings on phones (in this case primarily iPhones).

Rough context -- even a few years ago a reporter's audio recorder, camera, notepad and phone were four discrete devices. Now they're wrapped into a single device that is constantly connected to the internet.

Seems like the key questions here are:

• icloud sync (under what circumstances should you avoid that, what are vulnerabilities)
• disk encryption (does it help?)
• should you do it at all?

This is an open question. I don't think we know where it fits or what to advise as answers.
