We were talking about the mobile security settings module and it's not always clear why an app needs access to a specific setting.

Are there ways of finding out why an app needs access to the microphone/camera/photos/location/etc.?
Are there easy ways of seeing what breaks when access is turned off?
Can we describe some common (or uncommon?) ways apps might use permissions, to give people an idea of why they might choose to enable/disable them?
