Auto Completion for Python

Hi there,

Let me start with saying that I'm somewhat of a beginner with nvim/nvchad, so apologies if I've missed something pretty simple.

I'm trying to get pyright + autocompletion working with Python. I've cloned the starter and edited the following files:

• configs/lspconfig.lua - I've added pyright into servers.

All of my other files are the same as the starter template. I've run :MasonInstallAll and have pyright installed. With just these changes, should I be getting auto-completion on my Python files? Right now even for standard library things I'm not seeing anything e.g. seeing methods available on a list. Apologies again if I've overlooked something simplistic somewhere. Cheers!

just installing the lsp binary wont work.. This is not vscode :/ . please configure in your lspconfig file too

Hi, thanks for the reply. I mentioned in my previous comment that I had both changed the lspconfig and installed the binary. When I open a Python file I can see it's using pyright I just get no autocomplete.

Looks to be an issue with pyright actually starting:

check lspinfo output. I tried here ( dont even code in python and it works here xD )

Okay I believe the issue is that pyright is basically trying to scan all the Python files on my entire drive. I also asked here and that's what it would seem to suggest.

I've changed my pyright setup to look like:

And it's working now.
