rutorrent 4.3.10 ratio plugin and rtorrent 0.15.1

Heya,

Testing rutorrent 4.3.10 (php 8.2.24) with rtorrent 0.15.1 (xmlr-pc). Ratio plugin doesn't initialize: ratio: Plugin failed to start.

Narrowed the failing check down to the following condition:

xml rpc logging revealed i/o with funky commands looking very much like memory corruption:
errors.log

The same setup with rutorrent 0.9.8 has ratio plugin working.

I'd appreciate a sanity check.

An invalid command is being sent and triggering a fault. Delete the ratio.dat file then reload the plugin.

Deleting ratio.dat and reloading the plugin did not work for me. Is there anything I can provide to assist with investigation and a fix? I can reproduce the error if needed. I've set Ratio's MAX_RATIO to 1 to reduce the output in the attached log. Thanks 👍

ratio.dat.existing.txt

No change in loading the plugin after resetting the file, though:
ratio.dat.reset.txt

Well, what do you know. Rebuilding rtorrent with tinyxml2 fixes the issue. Still fishy tho...

I have exactly this same problem. It's a new build (latest code as of yesterday) of rtorrent and rutorrent.

Is rebuilding rtorrent with tinyxml2 a task that other people with the Ratio Plugin problem should be able to perform, or should we wait for an official fix? If it's a quick fix, would you mind providing some instructions? I have searched around for guidance, but only came across recent threads talking about Autobrr. Chatgpt wasn't much help either. Cheers!

@mattleech The instructions are in the release for rTorrent. Configure with --with-xmlrpc-tinyxml2.

@allixx rTorrent is going to be dropping xmlrpc-c soon. tinyxml2 is the new modern replacement.
