Given that anyone following the link from the website or typing the URL manually will be a member, it makes sense for the HMS landing page to present the login screen rather than having to click a tiny link. Whilst the information on the page at the moment is useful it's stuff that's either duplicated on the website or information that should be on the website, not HMS.
I'm dumping a lot of ideas down here as they come to me at the moment, they will probably be transferred to Trello when we have it setup.

This is probably a good idea, but it might be a good idea to keep that page as something different. Originally the plan was that there would be PCs set up on open nights with that page showing and people could end the tour there, not sure how often that has been the case though
Yeah, I agree it's worth keeping the page in some form for the membership team to direct people to. From what I've experienced when I've given tours and the other members giving tours is that most of the stuff on that page has been explained during the tour already.
