Hi NiLuJe,
how can I create a language pack for Kindle PW? (exactly PW 2018 8GB WiFi)

I downloaded the latest firmware (5.13.6) and extracted by your kindletool.
I found some locales (MO files) in the rootfs.img at these places:

/usr/share/locale/
/usr/share/webkit-1.0/pillow/locales/
/app/AaMenuApplication/locale/

So I am able to translate it using gettext, poedit, e.t.c.

Two questions:

How can I create a package with translated files?
Must be Kindle rooted to install the package? Or package will be accepted without JB?

Thank you in advance.

No idea, I have no experience with that.

Of course. There's a dedicated package code for language page (FLn, IIRC), but that's orthogonal to the issue: they're still signed ;).

I'm not sure I ever actually had one on hand, so I couldn't even tell you if it needs specific care in how it's packaged, and whether KindleTool even does the right thing.

Thanks, for the answer. Seems it will be easier just copy the language files manually to jailbreaked kindle...

Note that, in practice, since everything has to go through MRPI nowadays, the package type actually matters little.

Any possibility to jailbreak FW 5.13.6?
Or should I to downgrade to 5.13.3? How?...

Nope on both counts.
