basic ideas
- use a simple SOC microcontroller (something with ethernet connectivity)
- have a basic motherboard
- standard expansion slots
- use "G-code" style commands lets call it Pcode
- use ATX psu
- expansion boards have both front/back panel expansions

- Valve control, N DO and N+4 DI.
- Bakeout control
- environmental sensing, temp, humidity, some ADC's
- DAC board
