I feel doing the activity on the binary image may be a bit too technical.

I feel using one of the gray scale example images with a bit of noise might be more accessible for beginners as it may be easier to related the image to some biological sample.

But I am not sure.

@tibuch @manerotoni what do you think?

In other words, maybe the activity 1 example should have a bit of biology in it.

The binary image could be an advanced activity to explore more technically what is actually going on.

That is a good point. Maybe we can take the image from the mean-module and add some salt&pepper noise?

There are a bunch of example images mentioned in the activity: does one of them work?

Otherwise feel free to add another one!

This one might be good. It is closer to reality but one can still cover the more theoretical parts.

Yes, I thought this is the one we use for the Fiji implementation of the activity.

Even better would be something that contains some actual biological objects....

Why not a typical microscopy image with shot noise LSM?
Something like the example image in imageJ mitosis 5D?
Ideally an image that contains different type of structures (filaments, dots, blobs)
Next time I have such a sample I will acquire a low resolution image
