A logo gallery makes it very tangible that VEDA is an ecosystem of high quality projects.

We should include such a gallery in our docs, ideally on the welcome page, to underline and illustrate the goal of VEDA of integrating community solutions.

We have some of them here: https://docs.openveda.cloud/veda-project/why.html, but should have it in a more prominent place

Acceptance criteria

  • Logo gallery of high value open source projects visible on the landing page

I made something like this a year ago that could be used as a starting place: https://github.com/NASA-IMPACT/veda-analytics/issues/102#issuecomment-2089000728

Right, that was the prior art I was looking for, thanks @jsignell! Would be awesome to that into the docs, as individual logo images or a pre-baked collage like this.

Would you separate / stratify the libraries somehow, @jsignell? Is that what the lines in your map mean?

tl;dr: I don't think we need to separate / stratify the libraries

I am trying to make sense of how this is organized 😅 ... In the top section it looks like there is some kind of dimensionality from left to right. So nd is on the left and then rasters are in the middle and vectors are on the right. Then in the middle section vertically it looks like analytics tools that you would use with any datatype. And the bottom is maybe where you work (not sure why ipyleaflet is down there).

But to your broader question I think it's easy to spend a lot of time trying to organize these logo clouds. I guess the usefulness of that exercise depends on the intended audience. If it's just to say "we promote these projects" then you don't really need structure. And if it's to say, "we recommend lonboard for visualizing vector data" then there is probably a more obvious way of saying that.

Thanks for this reasoning. Yes, listing the promoted projects is basically it. 😄
