I believe using the Templater plugin in conjunction with this plugin is the way to go there, as opposed to implementing templates within this plugin. |

As an alternative, I use the dataview plugin to render my entire note from the frontmatter fields. It probably uses more resources executing javascript for every page, but on desktop I don't notice it. Has the added benefit of styling my notes and showing information selectively based on which shelf it is in. |

Adding another vote for this feature. It would mean that synchronising with 'overwrite' on could still be feasible even with additional information in the note (as long as it's part of the template). As it is, I'm reluctant to start using it without decent template support. |
In the section Body, you can write a body for the file that will be created.
It could be interesting to enable the possibility of usage of a template too.
