I can't reproduce this behavior on my machine anymore, so I can't help you with this unfortunately. It could be that the new behavior is being gradually rolled out and you are affected based on your user name or IP or Bandcamp backend server you end up calling.

The new algorithm is now 5, which, in the current implementation, defaults to the sha1 kdf.
would love to see an update.
