Smart card certificates are non-exportable of course. Is it possible that Insomnia (if it is Electron) could attempt to process a request without using curl or could configure libcurl. I'm not sure what parameters have gone in to the curl/libcurl build to know what tls lib is being used.
It would be nice if we could export the public key and attach that as a crt/cer which is used to identify WHICH certificate should be used (by serial) and then provide those hints to curl before the call.
