Screensaver only not as a desktop image #1387
Comments
Was having same issue, but figured out how to enable it using this issue Just select your monitor using the button the arrow is pointing to |
Hey @MacBandito I'm a bit surprised that it started on its own, maybe I have a bug, I need to check. This was on a macOS update, not a fresh mac Install ? Did you upgrade companion too then ? In any case I think @Neal-11 should have pointed you in the right direction but if not, press the button here : It won't start on it's own again. (and if it does let me know) |
Had the same. After installation the wallpaper kinda enabled itself by default. |
@Neal-11 Was it moving ? MacOS 15 tries to reset your desktop background at install, to their "static-ish" version of it, and had a few people reporting that too. It's easy to miss during setup. I'll investigate this this week end, thanks for the info in any case ! |
Pretty sure it was, yes

Correct I had just installed Aerial. Is Companion a separate install from Aerial? I may have clicked something to get it to start doing that without knowing it but I can’t find any documentation controlling desktop videos. I want the MacOS desktop images when then Aerial as the screensaver. |
Again, see my screenshot above, click the stop button |
Thank you. Will do. |
I just reinstalled this for the first time since updating to MacOS 15. I seem to remember there was a way to have it as a screen saver only and not also have it continuously playing on the desktop. Am I remember in error? I can't find anything in the manuals about it on on here.
