I think it would be interesting if more special pet options were available: currently the Deathsnatcher is the only non-vanilla option (that I've seen) and, while cool, it is a CE demonic being, which is fine for a more fiend-leaning character, but less roleplay-appropriate for someone wanting to go the path of a more classic hero.
I just wanted to throw in a few ideas, based on more common Isekai companion tropes, though I know nothing of programming, so I don't know how complex any of these would be to implement.
Slime (Neutral) - either using a water elemental model (maybe swapping the drown special ability for some acid damage), or the gelatinous cube from the Through The Ashes storyline
Robot (Neutral or Lawful Neutral) - maybe a progression based on one of the golem types implemented in the game, maybe evolving into Inevitable (based on the one -Imezlen- you meet during the endgame) at high levels
Dragon (any good or evil) - I'm hesitant because it might cheapen Our Lady Of The Sweet Tooth Aivu, but it is undeniable that dragon pets are a staple of the Isekai genre. They might be based on any/all of the implemented dragons (gold, silver, copper(?), black, umbral)
I mean, the other obvious classic would be some form of succubus, nutI think we would stray from the definition of "pet"...

New pets aren't a priority at the moment, since it will require some work creating and adding progression features.
I'll have a look at this when I decide to work on a new animal companion.
