Description
Following my talk at the last tracking meeting (GlueX-doc-7079), we decided to revisit the parameters and maybe the code used for smearing the FDC in simulation. We can use this issue to gather information and address different improvements.
In the attached plot, I compare the timing of FDC wire and strip (cathode) hits in real data (RD) with the default MonteCarlo simulation (MC)
The timing distribution in MC is exactly the same for wires and strip hits and has a strange enhancement around 200ns. By setting the FDC_TIME_WINDOW parameter in CCDB from 1000 to 270 as described in the slides, this enhancement is cut away and some of the distributions for matched tracks look more realistic.
It will be interesting to determine the origin of this enhancement. I will also compare amplitude/charge distributions between data and mc.
