The standard data/MC matching selections have been found to be too tight in some regions, particularly for charged tracks in the forward region. Generally we should reevaluate the algorithm / selections. but Jesse H. did identify some looser selections that worked for the cascade photoproduction analysis. @sdobbs can work with him to implement these as defaults.
