GPT-4-Powered Newsletter Generator and Manager


Design and UX

UI/UX Design:

  • Create mockups and prototypes using Figma.

Development

Frontend: React

Tasks:

1. General Flow:


General User Flow:

  1. Landing Page:

    • User lands on the landing page.
    • User navigates through the features and benefits of the application.
  2. Try Now/Sign Up:

    • User clicks on "Try Now" or a similar call-to-action.
    • User is presented with sign-up/login options.
    • User signs up or logs in using Google or other authentication methods.
  3. Dashboard:

    • Post-authentication, the user is redirected to the dashboard.
    • The dashboard displays an input area for the user to enter their prompt for newsletter generation.
    • User may also see options to view past newsletters, drafts, or manage settings.
  4. Newsletter Generation:

    • User enters a prompt and clicks "Generate".
    • The generated content is displayed to the user in the UI.
  5. Editing & Multimedia:

    • User can click "Edit" to modify the generated content directly in the UI.
    • User can add images or other multimedia to enhance the newsletter.
    • All changes can be saved as drafts, allowing the user to return and finalize later.
  6. Posting the Newsletter:

    • Once satisfied, the user clicks "Post" to send the newsletter.
    • User is given options to select which subscribers or subscriber groups to send the newsletter to.
    • A confirmation message is displayed once the newsletter is successfully sent.
  7. Feedback & Analytics:

    • Users can navigate to an analytics section to view performance metrics of their sent newsletters (e.g., open rates, click-through rates).
    • Feedback from subscribers can also be accessed, helping users refine their content for future newsletters.

2. Figma Design Flow:

  1. User starts with a blank canvas on Figma.

  4. User designs the dashboard layout, focusing on user prompts for newsletter generation, editing tools, and options to add multimedia.
  5. User tests the design flow by simulating the journey from landing page to newsletter posting.

3. Detailed Component Interaction & Data Flow:

  1. Landing Page:

    • User lands on the landing page.
    • Static content is loaded, showcasing the app's features and benefits.
  2. Try Now/Sign Up:

    • User clicks "Try Now" or a similar call-to-action.
    • Sign-up modal/page is loaded.
    • User chooses to sign up or log in with Google.
    • Backend verifies the authentication, creates/updates user data in the database, and generates a session token.
  3. Dashboard:

    • User is redirected to the dashboard after successful authentication.
    • The dashboard fetches user data and any saved drafts or previous newsletters from the database.
    • User is presented with an input area to enter their prompt for newsletter generation.
  4. Newsletter Generation:

    • User enters a prompt and clicks "Generate".
    • The prompt is sent to the backend, which communicates with GPT-4.
    • GPT-4 processes the prompt and returns the generated newsletter content.
    • The generated content is displayed to the user in the UI.
  5. Editing & Multimedia:

    • User can click "Edit" to modify the generated content directly in the UI.
    • User can add images or other multimedia. Images can be uploaded, and the backend stores them in the database or cloud storage (e.g., Firestore's Cloud Storage or AWS S3).
    • All changes are saved as drafts in the database, ensuring no data loss.
  6. Posting the Newsletter:

    • User clicks "Post" to send the newsletter.
    • Backend communicates with the email service (e.g., SendGrid) to send the newsletter to the user's subscribers.
    • A record of the sent newsletter is saved in the database, including content, images, and timestamp.
  7. Feedback & Iteration:

    • After posting, users can receive feedback or analytics on their newsletter's performance.
