Adding a camera in HomeKit is a fairly big lift - lots of specialized code required. It's something I'll consider for the future but don't have any immediately plans (though the ESP32-Cam modules do look quite nice). Changing the host name is an easier task 😀. I'll add a new method to do so in the next patch update, and will let you know when it's available in dev for testing. Note the suffix itself reflect the HomeKit Device ID assigned to the device. This itself is a random number, but it's used by HomeKit to identify the device and is incorporated into the encryption keys. However, it is separately broadcast through MDNS and does not need to be included as a suffix in the hostName, which can be anything provided it is unique across your network. |

Glad you like the library. Unfortunately I don't have any current plans to add webcams given their complexity. |

Did someone manage to make esp32 cam work under homespan? |

@patricktsidina there is https://github.com/maximkulkin/esp32-homekit-camera. I made that work, but it was a real hassle. It would be amazing if homespan supported esp32 cams. |

Yes, it would be a very interesting feature of Homespan Library including ESP Cam. |

Have you considered integrating the camera characteristic, specifically for the ESP32-Cam modules?
Also it would be great to have the option to set host name to a fixed [no random suffix] value such as esp-hk.local rather than something like esp-hk-xxxxxxxx.local.
