Describe the bug

My appolgies for a very vague and unreproducible bug.

During our event, we checked in hundreds of people, but when checking the checkin count of the 'Check in Lists' in Hi.Events, it was often reporting a number way below what I knew we had checked in.

e.g. I knew we had checked in 1000 GA tickets because we had run out of bracelets, but the checkin list was still reporting just a few hundred checked in people. At first I thought that was the bug, but later the count updated to the correct(ish) number.
We may have had errors in the browser console that I didn't see. We had some serious network connectivity issues, whch might have been causing update issues.

Later I refreshed an the numbers were updated, but clearly incorrect. (see #889)

Im not sure how the count gets incremented, but in post mortem testing the count did lag a bit as I checkin users, but would correct if I simply changed the page in Hi.Events, and back, or refreshed.
Its difficult to recreate the conditions.

  • We were checking in attendees using both manual search by name and checkin (for VIPs and peformers) and QR scanning for GA.
  • We had a wide range of devices being used to checkin users.
  • The wifi was spotty.

In this screenshot, I checked myself in 10 times and the counter didn't increment.
Note: during the event, it looked like the counter was a few hours out of sync and we were using the laptop constantly, so that is not the bug.
