  • The Markdown editor is hard for people unfamiliar with Markdown to use
  • The current Markdown editor's behavior for adding links adds an https:// by default which is really annoying since in general, you paste in links
  • I recommend something that doesn't require Markdown, such as Basecamp's excellent Trix WYSIWYG editor

I'd be cautious about this. Markdown supports embedding HTML directly into the content which is very useful for things you can't do with WYSIWYG like additional custom styles or HTML elements (we used this feature for the HackGT 6 interstitial page iirc).

Also, the current editor supports WYSIWYG functionality already (albeit with a few bugs like you mentioned)
