I have tried everything in the troubble shooting section to stop the crash, however it persisted. i was able to load into the next chapter okay. im not sure if it is an issue becasue of Virtual desktop. everything else works fine, some of the lighting effects like for the portal gun arent tied to the portal gun but my head but those are the only graphical issues. my pc has a 3060rtx so i dont belive it is a graphics thing. not sure really on whats causing the crash, ith happens as i enter the loading zone right before the turrent production line section, i am going to try and load a previous save in the sectoin to see if it is an issue with loading.

Hey I have the exact same crash. Is it the area right after you jump down with all the tubes? I think it might be a bug. I am using v0.1.5.

This is the same as issue #125. Seems the temporary solution is to revert to a previous build. I don’t know how to do that if it is not available as a public release. I expect it is using the GitHub app to revert and build your own compile. Issue #125 refers to “roll back to version 11097438”. I do not know how that translates to one of the available public builds.

It's just a patch contained in a zip file. You basically dump the contents of the patch archive linked in the #125 post inside the root of your game folder. As easy as it gets. My only worry is Valve are pushing more of these pesky unwanted updates and it's only a matter of time before this game breaks again.
